Our Firm

LION-S is a Luxembourg-based investment firm focused on systematic investment strategies. The firm’s research examines structural dispersion associated with company-level operating, labour, legal, governance and supply-chain risk and its relationship with financial performance and market behaviour. LION-S GP S.à r.l. is the managing general partner and registered alternative investment fund manager of LION-S Social Risk Arbitrage, a Luxembourg SCSp.

Our Story

LION-S builds on more than 16 years of research into company-level social and operational risk. The work began with the development of the MacCormick Social Performance Index in 2010 and subsequently evolved into the proprietary S-Factor® research framework. Systematic historical strategy research dates to January 2015. Today, that research supports the development and management of systematic investment strategies through LION-S.

Bonnie-Lyn de Bartok

Founder & Chief Investment Strategist

Bonnie-Lyn de Bartok is Founder and Chief Investment Strategist of LION-S GP S.à r.l., where she leads investment research, signal architecture and portfolio design. Her work focuses on identifying market mispricing associated with company-level operating, labour, legal, governance and supply-chain risks across global public equities.

Her investment research draws on more than 35 years of experience pricing and assessing risk across 68 countries, including advisory work with corporates, governments, NGOs and institutional investors. Over more than 16 years, she has developed proprietary methodologies for translating non-traditional corporate information into systematic investment signals, beginning with the MacCormick Social Performance Index in 2010 and subsequently evolving into the S-Factor® research framework and LION-S systematic investment strategies. She holds a B.A. in International Development Studies and International Relations from Saint Mary’s University and completed the Impact Finance Innovations Executive Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
